Body Reconnect’s Fit Mammas class provides a safe and fun environment to welcome you back to exercise (or maybe introduce you to exercise!) after you have had a baby. At Fit Mammas we understand that there are so many barriers to exercise as a new mum, and so we make this class as accessible and enjoyable as possible.

Classes are 60 minutes in duration, and unlike other classes you are very welcome to bring your baby along with you. There is plenty of equipment available for babies including play mats, jumparoo, bumbo, bouncy seat and toys (so the babies will have their own fun!), and you are welcome to feed, change, or comfort your baby throughout the class and as you see appropriate. We want you and your baby to feel totally at ease and enjoy your time to the full. 

This class is designed for post-natal women from 6 weeks (providing there are no complications), and incorporates cardiovascular-, strength- and toning exercises, core-stability and pelvic floor work, and stretching. Variations of exercises are always offered, so that this class is appropriate for both the novice and experienced exerciser. We try to keep the class varied in format and content, so come expecting some hard work, a lot of laughs, and to make some lovely new friends.

Classes are pre-booked and pre-paid, and I recommend coming at least 1 x per week, to get the most out the classes, but I hope you will want to come more!

My ultimate goal is to help you recover from pregnancy and birth so you can be physically and mentally prepared for motherhood, AND of course to have fun and meet other local Fit Mammas.

Fit Mamma’s classes are fun and sociable, your babies are made to feel as welcome as you are. Sarah encourages everyone to go at their own pace and is always on hand to offer modifications to suit individual needs. However, what is great about this class is that when you and Sarah feel that you are ready it gives you the opportunity to push your self a bit more than some other post natal exercise classes. This has been brilliant as I have really enjoyed the buzz of getting back into some “proper” exercise whilst knowing that I am in safe hands!

Ante-natal classes:

Body Reconnect works closely with Maternally Fit to offer ante-natal exercise classes in Shepperton.

Maternally Fit classes are suitable for pregnant women from 12 – 40 weeks, and are appropriate for both the novice and experienced exerciser. Each class will be individually tailored to your fitness needs and abilities. Classes are one hour in duration and consist of both cardio-vascular fitness and strength training.  Classes are based around the use of the exercise ball and hand weights.
